We strongly suggest that BEFORE you begin the on-line registration process, you gather a team of six runners, all of whom are ready, willing, and able to run on May 22nd. Then, you should identify a team leader from amongst the six team members. The leader should then start the on-line registration process by going to the online registration form when the Lottery opens on March 13th.
The on-line form will ask the leader "Do you want to register as an Individual Runner or a 6-Pack Team?". The leader should select "6-Pack Team" and continue filling out the registration form with his/her personal information. During that process, the leader will establish a "Group Name" for the team. The leader will be given a "Group Number" that is unique to his/her team. The leader should then communicate the Group Name and Group Number to the remaining five team members. Each of the five should then go to the on-line registration form, select "Register as a 6-Pack Team", and fill in his/her personal information. This can be done anytime during the one week Lottery registration window. Make sure all 6 members register by March 20th at 12pm EST!
Any group that does not have all 6 groups members registered by March 20th will not be considered. Team Captains can keep an eye on everyone's registration status in their Captain's Portal.
You will each get an email on March 21st telling you if you've been accepted in the event. There is no fee to enter the 6-Pack Team lottery, but if your team gets in, you will be directly to a payment form and charged the $60 race fee.
No. The Team Leader must be the first member of the team to fill out the on-line registration form. This can happen at any time during the one week registration window. However, the remaining five members must complete their registration forms before the registration window closes on March 20th at 12pm. We recommend leaders register as early as possible to give the remaining team members time to complete their own registration forms.
No. The race fee for each runner is $60 whether they run individually or as a member of a 6-Pack Team.
6-Pack teams must have six registered runners by the end of the registration window in order to participate in the lottery. Teams with fewer than six are invalid. Make sure your team is complete by March 20th at noon!
The lottery will randomly select the field of runners. The process is blind to the registration information of each registrant.
It is impossible to know the probability of being selected because, until the registration window closes, we will not know how many people register. The more registrants, the lower the probability of being selected and vice versa.
No. All registrants face the same probability of getting a number provided they complete and submit the registration form during the one week registration window.
We do not know the probability of either the Individual Lottery or the 6-Pack Lottery because the number of registrants is unknown until the one week registration window closes.
No. You may only select one type of registration. Any runner who registers himself/herself more than once will be disqualified.
We do not have a mechanism to connect people with teams. You could try posting on our Facebook Page. Don’t worry though, the 5-Miler is a very social event so even if you are not a member of a registered 6-pack team, you will be part of a friendly group of runners, beer lovers, and great people!
